Steve Wall, the photo author:
I was actually taking a little break from an early morning hike, and was just resting when I heard the squirrel cavorting around. I ended up trying to sit perfectly still for about 20 minutes and take photos without moving as it got more trusting and closer. I ended up with probably 30 poor to mediocre shots, one or two average photos and this one that I really like. I think the trick to photography is to only show your good stuff!
